However, this was brought into light as a global issue in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the issue is elevated and addressed, several effective technologies have emerged to combat food waste at every stage of the food production process. The USDA's Foodkeeper, Fridge Pal, and Fridgely are examples of technological advancements that further aid to reduce the average household's food consumption and waste. Despite the technological advancements, a major part of solving the food waste problem understands why and how it occurs.
