Dunlavy Contracting is known for its full-service offering that covers all aspects of the meat processing and production industry. It specializes in building successful meat processing systems, from plant design and remodeling, equipment manufacturing and installation to developing food safety and operations programs.

Backed by in-house electrical, plumbing, concrete, and millwright teams, Dunlavy Contracting is equipped to build facilities faster and better while driving efficiencies and ensuring high quality. Expert engineers on staff help customers design and install a range of equipment and full production lines, with a keen focus on automation to drive down labor costs. Through its different divisions, including Food Processing Integrators, focused food groups, and mechanical engineering, Dunlavy Contracting has all the resources to get a facility up and running and help clients reach their goals.

“As we are a one-stop shop, our clients do not have to wait for another contractor to come in, which streamlines operations and adds efficiencies,” says owner Allen Dunlavy.

Apart from supporting day-to-day operations, the team sets up preventative maintenance programs for each piece of equipment in a plant. Trained personnel are also available to address emergency needs.

Dunlavy Contracting understands that food safety is paramount to any meat processing facility. To strengthen customer endeavors to produce high-quality, safe food, the team develops and implements food safety programs along with SSOPs, HACCP, and GMPs. With a fully certified global food safety audit training program designed by its partner Rhonda Wulf, it educates professionals on industry standards to minimize food safety hazards.

One of the greatest challenges of the meat processing industry is finding and recruiting employees with the expertise to keep a plant running efficiently. Dunlavy Contracting has a recruitment division to hire employees and management personnel to support the goals of meat processors and producers, which is especially important for startups.

To deliver services that meet and exceed client expectations, it follows a detailed onboarding process that begins with meeting clients in person to clearly understand their requirements. Once all equipment is ready to be installed, the team goes over the plant designs again and gets to work to finish a project on time. To avoid delays, Dunlavy Contracting even has a trucking division to haul the necessary equipment, avoiding the need to rely on external logistics providers.

“We go above and beyond to meet our client's needs,” Dunlavy says, “Even if it means scheduling an extra shift or working over the weekend. This wouldn’t have been possible without our highly experienced crew that has decades of combined experience to execute a project of any size, on time and within budget.”

In one situation, after receiving an emergency call on Easter, Dunlavy Contracting helped a client remove old equipment, build replacements, and install them quickly when no one else was willing to take on the project.

Success stories like this demonstrate the team’s commitment to excellence, which is highly appreciated by clients. Focusing on the food industry, Dunlavy Contracting is equipped with the right expertise and tools to help its clients scale and achieve their visions.
