Its proven, patented, and three-tier BIOIONIX technology acts as an artificial immune system for food safety. The disinfection systems range from small spray systems to systems made to handle more than 3 million gallons per day—can be used for food processing within a partner’s facility or even the ocean to treat Red Tide.

The first tier of the disinfection chamber comprises SuperOxidantsTM generated using electrolysis techniques that safely destroy DNA and RNA of pathogens.

The second tier is a non-chemical controlled concentration of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) created using slightly acidic electrolyzed water within the disinfection chamber. It is a super-safe solution with disinfecting properties that are 100 times stronger than bleach, peracetic acid, ammonia, and other harmful cleansers. Equipment in food processing plants can be sterilized through the recirculation of HOCl, killing fatal pathogens like Salmonella, E.coli, avian influenza, swine flu, Listeria monocytogenes, and COVID-19.

The chamber’s third tier is BIOSAIF24/7 —the brain of the artificial immune system. Its built-in AI software operates continuously, monitoring and alerting the BIOIONIX team to ensure the equipment has optimal disinfection, brine quality, and food safety. Exemplifying the efficacy of BIOIONIX is a case where a cheese plant was confronting poor hygiene practices due to high APC counts. The partner could not consistently track the quality as they could act only after 72 hours of measuring pathogens in the food processors. This was due to the inconsistencies in brine disinfection caused by pasteurization and chemical processes. Implementing BIOSAIF24/7 technology helped the client with 24/7 disinfection and decreased APCs from 60,000 to 29,000 to less than 100 CFU per milliliter on a day-to-day basis. It helped the cheese plant win the world's best cheese title for that year.

Partnering with BIOIONIX also proved beneficial for a major meat processor looking for a 2 log reduction in microbes. Upon executing in-house testing with the research abilities of the University of Wisconsin, BIOIONIX inoculated Listeria monocytogenes at a magnitude around 6 to 8 log into the brine and achieved a complete reduction in less than two seconds. This phenomenal log reduction far exceeded the partner’s expectations and currently available chemical disinfecting applications.
