There is a vital port of call for those seeking to gain a foothold in Asia: the Shanghai World of Packaging (swop). This is the ideal meeting-point for all those looking to make their entry into one of the world’s most exciting areas of economic activity. Once again, in November, swop – the central hub of the Asian packaging industry – will provide first-class conditions for market entry, doing business and targeted exchange.
The international processing & packaging industry is set to convene at swop – an event organised by the interpack alliance – in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre between 25 and 27 November 2025. In excess of 950 exhibitors and more than 40,000 visiting professionals from over 100 countries are anticipated, facilitating direct dialogue with decision-makers from key industries such as food, pharma, cosmetics, and consumer goods.
Thomas Dohse, Director of interpack, emphasizes the importance of personal contact for business relationships in China, stating that swop is increasingly becoming a "must-attend" event in the Chinese market. Feedback from last year's event showed that 98 percent of exhibitors and 95 percent of visitors were satisfied with their participation.
An added highlight for international exhibitors is the “International Pavilion,” which offers high visibility and targeted visitor routes to important purchasers, fostering qualified contacts and market expansion. KOCH Pac-Systeme, for example, looks forward to showcasing their comprehensive solutions at swop 2025.
The event will feature a diverse program focusing on current market trends and technological innovations. Notable zones include the Smart Packaging Zone, Green Power Zone, and the expanded “Food Processing and Intelligent Manufacturing Zone,” developed with the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFT). The SAVE FOOD Forum will address packaging's role in combating food loss and waste.
Another highlight is the “Women in Packaging” forum, which celebrates women's contributions to the industry and promotes dialogue on equity, leadership, and diversity.
