Cannabis is no longer only for cultivators and retailers; there are now many technical and ancillary businesses that are cashing in on the product.
FREMONT, CA: As the cannabis industry, progresses so too does the technology used to elevate the sector further. Cannabis is no longer only for cultivators and retailers; there are now many technical and ancillary businesses that are cashing in on the product. Though the world has progressed in terms of how it views cannabis, the cannabis industry has also benefited from technological advancements that have allowed it to thrive in the modern age.
Take a look at how technology has influenced the cannabis industry.
Apps
[vendor_logo_first]As the cannabis industry faced COVID-19 lockdowns, dispensaries used apps to include curbside pick-ups and deliveries without violating social distancing rules. This meant that, while other businesses were forced to close or lose revenue as a result of the pandemic, the cannabis industry saw a rise in sales across the country. Then there are applications, which show users where their closest cannabis dispensary is, and others, which offer a wealth of information on cannabis strains and user feedback to help customers decide which strain is better.
Cannabis Extraction Technology
Consumption of cannabis is no longer confined to blunts and bongs, and technological advancements have helped increase the range of cannabis products available. CO2 extraction is one such technology. Certain components of the cannabis plant can now be removed or separated from the sum of the pieces, thanks to the advancing technology of cannabis extraction. One can now get terpenes on their own, cannabis concentrates, CBD (Cannabidiol) oils and tinctures, and much more, thanks to the developing technology of cannabis extraction.
CBD, in particular, has become a huge boon to the cannabis industry because it can be obtained from low-THC hemp plants, making it both federally legal and non-psychoactive. As a result, by 2024, the CBD industry is expected to be worth more than 20 billion dollars. New types of cannabis consumption have emerged as a result of cannabis extraction technologies, such as vaporizing and dabbing rigs, which can provide smoke-free or more potent consumption options.
