In support of wine and grape applications, Watson-Marlow introduces the MasoSineCerta Sine and Bredel pump solutions.
FREMONT, CA: A winemaking process involves handling fluids and slurries that vary in viscosity, particulate size, and sensitive fluids and slurries. With Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS), vintners can increase productivity and efficiency without sacrificing product quality using MasoSineCerta Sine and Bredel pump solutions. With an advanced sinusoidal design, Certa Sine pumps offer a gentle pumping action ideal for high-viscosity fluids. In addition to being 3A and FDA certified, Certa process pumps are built to the EHEDG Type EL Aseptic Class I standard for the food and beverage industry.
Under maximum operating pressures of 217 psi, Certa Sine pumps provide 1124 GPM of flow while maintaining a smooth product flow. Wine and fruit juices are inappropriate for moving higher shear pumps due to the risk of aeration and unwanted oxygenation. Using Certa Sine pumps eliminates this risk, resulting in superior product quality.
It is common for centrifugal pumps to cause cavitation in wine applications, which affects dissolved CO2 levels. As a result of Certa Sine pumps' low-shear, pulse-free movements, CO2 levels inside the fluid remain optimal throughout the process. The pumps can also handle fluids with suspended particles up to 4 inches in diameter.
Through a unique, direct coupled technology, Bredel pumps to ensure a gentle transfer of fruit must and better quality results in the final product by pumping it through a secure hose without any seals or contact with internal moving parts. With a lift capacity of 30 feet, industrial-grade suction power is available to move large quantities of product efficiently simultaneously. Peristaltic hose pumps from WMFTS are another product range with extensive applications in wineries and bottling centers. The line-up includes large-capacity pumps designed to handle heavy slurries with a high density of suspended particles. Peristaltic pumps are ideal for the safe transport of grape and berry must.
